I enjoyed the finish on this bottle it had just the right amount of spice and paired really well with my chili. I thought the bottle had come along nicely however if you wanted to keep holding it you could. Drink now or till 2015
I started off loving this - and don't get me wrong, it was good - but it wasn't spectular. Dark fruits, earth with a bit of cedary oak underlying it all. Full bodied wine, but not over-the-top at all. Juicy flavors that the nose had promised coming through on the front of the palate. Problem is the flavors seemed to dissipate when it got towards the mid-back of the palate. Somewhat Hollow. Finish was nice, medium length +, but I kept wondering what happened to the wine after the initial attack of flavor. if not for that, this would have been a spectacular bottle.
This is a great comeback from the 2007 vintage, reminds me a lot of the 2006. Great nose on this wine, smooth on the tannins, very much that Central Coast distinct character. Wonderful food pairing with a couple of grilled Buffalo Ribeyes. Will be looking to get a few more bottles in my cellar and look forward to a couple of years down the road.
