Quick note, ripe, warm nose of blackberry and red plum. More red fruit on the palate, bright red cherry and cassis it's a tannic wine with a touch of heat. I'd give it a bit more time to let the tannins resolve a bit hopefully the fruit will hold up.,
Funny how visiting a nice looking winery makes the wine taste better. Without the views, this wine tastes pretty sub-par. Hot, alcoholic, tannic mess. Takes a lot to not finish a half bottle, but we managed to do that here! Is there a chance this turns into something interesting in 5-10 years? Guess we won't find out.
dark plum color, a little bit hot on the nose when first opened, alcohol settling after 30 minutes. cherry, plum, fig notes.
I first paired this with pizza and was content, but when I paired this with teriyaki salmon I was impressed. A great value for the price and will definitely pull it out again anytime I'm having smoked salmon, beef jerky or teriyaki of any sort.
