Orange, Iced tea colored Lots of cooked apricot on the nose, Smells like a Tokaji. Some hints of toast, floral hints, and candied fruit. Palate follows the nose. Medium finish. Totally on point. Excellent bottle.
Absolutely surprised this bottle has held on this long. It was fantastic and paired nicely the seafood dishes we were served.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape Dinner (Del Frisco - Chicago IL): While I'd consider this oxidative under normal circumstances, I'd almost consider this spring fresh in context of the Beaucastel Blanc VV flight. Pleasant and well balanced with a nice sense of energy on finish.

This bottle had slightly more oxidative characteristics compared to my last one. Lush, thick and ripe, like I remember it. Seemed like it's wonderful acidity and complexity were a tad subdued. Still, a beautiful wine. 17.5/20

Liquid gold in the glass. Nose presents beeswax, honey, white sultanas, marzipan, dried herbs and nectarine. Only a faint hint of oxidation, which adds complexity and depth. On the palate this is silky smooth, yet very broad and impressive! Again there's nectarine, caramel, truffles, vanilla, honeysuckle and nutty nuances like hazelnut and almond. Great supportive acidity, excellent length. A great and complete wine to drink now. 18.5/20

The mystery of these wines continues. This was by far the best of the case - and the last one. Medium gold, nutty nose showing some sherry, but the wine is fresh on the palate with a nice, oily finish. It shows some fruit, but great minerals and not the oxidized wine I have had so many times in the past. So I hope it is not bottle variation, but for those with some left, that this wine has emerged from the dumb state. A-/?

Cracked this last night for a glass of wine before heading out to dinner. Ruh roh...dark golden color and yup oxidized. Was it drinkable yes but not enjoyable. Sherry/honey with some stone fruit and acidity left but the strong sherry note was off putting.
I am going to guess these need to be consumed sooner rather than later. I wonder how the Vieilles Vignes version is holding up?

Yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of dried herbs, anise and yellow pear. Flavors of yellow pears and a bit of spice. Light to medium acidity, medium body. Drink now.

Dark gold with a hint of amber...and on opening an immeadiate hit of honey and a strong sense of caramel and a sauterne like personality...on the palate just short of oxidized...some light fruit nuances at mid palate with a firm edge. One bottle left...either it is over the hill...or has been said, will rise a again with mucho time. I will wait...

Deep gold. Full bodied and powerful. It is in an oxidative phase, which makes it hard to drink, unless you really like that style. This bottle was certainly too old. Whether it is also too young, and will transform itself in due course, I am not sure. I will keep my remaining bottles for at least a couple of years - it's not worth drinking now.

(with white truffle/proscuitto pizza). Stone fruit (peach/pear) and honey, with truffle (accentuated by the pizza) ... this was one of those beautiful food/wine pairings

(at Christopher Daniel – Baltimore) Medium gold. Funky nose of horse and creamed corn. Palate is a bit heavy with a somewhat out of balance finish. Maybe I am being harsh, but I much preferred the 2005. (89)

Masters and Numanthias (Northbrook, IL): Deep gold colour. Nose shows interesting almost oxidative flavours with aromas of marzipan, honey, roasted nuts, flowers, orange peel and white fruits. Palate offers similar flavours, but it has a slightly flabby mouthfeel with low acidity and a medium length finish.

Very nice and just my style. Nut, flowers, spices, rhone dust, iodine, subtle salt notes, pear liquer, minerals, limeleaf/limestone gig, fungus with a long subtle finish, moderate body, & moderate plus acids. Really great food wine as I had Olive Oil dough encrusted wild mushroom and fresh broad beans.

Maderized. Stored perfectly so it seems the wine is just much less able to age than I expected.

Very aromatic and interesting nose. Acidity seemed too prominent -- probably needs more time. Very nice wine nonetheless.
