Exactly like earlier bottles. The WA says it is drinkable until into the 2030s. I have said before and will repeat.......this wine is a terrific drink right now, and I do not see it getting any better. I am going to enjoy my last two bottles.

Dinner at Collage in St. Augustine. Red and black fruits, cedar on the nose. Medium bodied with very pure cassis and a nice balance of acid and tannin. Still plenty of life left on finish. This bottle was purchased on release and stored at 55 degrees - probably has at least 5 good years remaining. Solid 92 points.

Dark red fruit along with some tobacco and earth. Tannin is mostly integrated and it has a velvet mouthfeel. There was an oxidized note that appeared on the finish suggesting that this wine has peaked and will be declining with additional time. This bottle was probably better a couple years ago. Drink now/soon.

Dark inky purple, decanted 30 minutes, still tight and closed, balance and tannins good, needs more bottle time to show it's best, reminded me of a young Mayacamas, will try again in 2025-2030.

Popped and poured, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium-plus intensity, black raspberry, strawberry, licorice, spice, and shoe polish. Palate: Medium-full bodied, ripe red and dark fruit attack - raspberry and cassis, great balance and mid-palate persistence, eucalyptus notes in the back-end. Finish: Subtle, but lengthy - minute-plus - showing ripe dark red and black fruit with eucalyptus and dark earth notes. Drinking exceptionally at the moment with several good years left - quite impressive.

This wine is drinking very well right now and is consistent with other Keenan offerings I have had and liked over the years. It is deep/dark and jammy. The only caution flag I would raise is that the Pro Reviewers have a back end drink year of 2036 for this one. While it is in no way exhibiting signs of tiring, I do not sense that it has another 16 years of life left in it.

Aromas of plum, coriander, clove, and oak. Black cherry, baking spices, mocha, leather, and a hint of vanilla on the palate. Moderate plus tannins and acid. Good body/length. Needed a 60 minute decant. In a good place now so drink over the next couple years.

Great wine. Perfect reflection of appellation and fantastic vintage. After a 2 hour decant and immediately upon opening, the nose is of typical floral bouquet of Spring Mountain fruit and the palate is luscious and superbly balanced. Medium-long finish. RP score of 92 is spot on. Last time I drank it was 4 years ago, and since it evolved perfectly. Moderate sediment in the bottle, but tannis still have some mild bite to them, so I think it will hold for at least 3-5 more years, and that's exactly what I'm planning to do with my remaining 2 bottles.

Pop and pour, served with NY Strip, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, blueberry, blackberry, shoe polish, and dark flowers. Palate: Medium-full bodied, sweet dark fruit attack, spice driven mid-palate lift, great acidic back-bone for a 12 year old wine, dark fruit, spice and earthiness dominate the back-end and persist through a medium length finish. This wine paired excellently with a grilled NY Strip this evening, plenty of life left here - 5+ years.

Really spectacular after an hour or so of air. Medium garnet color in the glass with just a hint of orange at the meniscus. What was a sweet berry flavor upon opening, evolved to a deep, brooding amalgam of blackberry, blueberry, pencil lead, cedar and a hint of cola. Full bodied with a long lingering finish.

Fantastic nose of creme de cassis and ultra ripe blackberry, creosote, new oak and spice. Full-bodied and very rich. This is absolutely fabulous and close to full maturity. The palate has some blue as well as more black fruits and spice. Rich and full, this may gain a bit more complexity with another year or 2 in the cellar, but the tannins are plush and pliant and the wine is completely open and delicious right now! Drink now-2027 93

Also spectacular, bought this almost 6 years ago and our second bottle (Drank the first one 5 years ago almost exactly) and as I stated in my review of the 2007 Silver Oak Cab we drank alongside of this, I'm so pleased how my ambient cellar is keeping, and aging wines, slow steady and fabulous, this was a similarly great wine and in comparison the Silver Oak and once again both wines displayed the 'typicity' of their terroirs, interesting side note, the Ontario Liquor monopoly the LCBO regularly 'tests' wines for quality, and at times re-rates the alcohol content, the winemaker has 14.3% listed on the bottle, while the the LCBO sticker rates it a whopping 15.7% alc! This did NOT have any heat that would be associated with an almost 16% alc. wine in my opinion - This one was very dark purple, minimal signs of aging in terms of colour, and this has many more years of life, deep nose of sweet black fruit, cedar, mocha and vanilla, still a bit dusty on the palate with fine tannins, very Napa, just wonderfully tasty and complex, not quite as approachable as the Silver Oak as yet, but interestingly different and spectacular! (94 Points).

Thought it was a 92 point bargain that I found for $37.00....but it was a $37 bottle of Cabernet at best. Many just as good or better alternatives at this price range. Heavy alcohol...strong tannins...

Very beautiful dark plum color. Nose of dark fruit, earthiness. Terrific on the tongue. Nice suggestion of dried fruit on the tip of the tongue—cassis, blueberry, and maybe, plum. Tannin does not hit until mid-palate. This wine is so easy to drink. It is very approachable now. While there is still tannin there, I’m not sure there is enough acid to recommend holding it longer.

This was better than anticipated and one of the best Napa cabernets for me in the last year. The nose was lovely with loads of blueberry pie, cassis, hints of graphite and candied floral notes, and some well integrated and subtle spice/oak notes. The palate was ripe, rich, and delicious with great acidity to inject some freshness into the ripe and delicious fruit along with suave and integrated tannins. I would definitely buy more Keenan wines based on this experience and the reasonable price.

Dark, dark center, dark red rim with only modest signs of age. First day the nose was totally closed, second day a much more intreguing smell of ripe plums, toasted oak, blackberries, and dusty earth. Blueberries, then significant acid and tannin up front, then some blackberries, strawberry jam, red currants, a little creamy, good length of mature red fruit. Hard to place. First day this was closed. Second day it opened up a little. Still unclear where this is going, but based on this bottle I'd say another 5 years at least. Surprisingly complex for lower end Cabernet cuvee.

Two years since my last tasting have served this wine very well! Pours inky purple/black; Black pepper, pine needles and toasted oak on the nose. Really well-balanced - where i last found a fairly dry wine, this has great dark fruit (blackberry, black plum) along with spice rack and vanilla in a very approachable package. There's a hint of front-palate dryness, but this is very drinkable both on its own and alongside some filets. Would drink by 2018-9 for optimal enjoyment; this has aged quite a bit in the last two years.

Walks the middle ground between old school and modern, with a nice balance of sweet fruit and savory/earthy/mildly herbal elements. Good structure, so should age well for a number of years to come.

Similar notes as last bottle. Cassis, subtle oak (vanilla), airy blue fruits, blueberry pie on the nose. The same vanilla bean/blueberry on the forefront here in my mouth. Which is very nice. Tannins still going strong though they are nice and fine grained. Finish is suitably long, with tongue numbing dryness still. Wish I had waited as I said I would, but already filet-worthy.

Not in inventory but sitting on the cellar wall. Bonus bottle for a humpday. Reserved half in an empty 375 for another day, but what I drank was perfect out of the bottle. Leather, bramble, forest floor and dark fruit on the nose. Good grip on the stems. Hint of black pepper and spice box on the nose as well. Silky tannins coat the palate, followed by a body of blackberry and other dark fruits. Very close to the heart of its drinking window, but good until 2017-19. Will drink my remaining bonus bottle by 2015 for optimal enjoyment.

Great spicy aromatics/ fruit aromas for the first hour in the glass before tasting. High anticipation based on nice aromatics. On the palate nothing special for a $40 bottle of Napa cab. Yes its good but about what a $40 cab brings, nothing more. Will let my other bottle wait another several years …. Plenty of nice tannins to hold on. No over oak on this, which is good. I’m now thinking that Spring Mountain fruit for me is just ok. Went well with steak. Two hours later palate profile remains and aromatics have diminished.

Nose of heat, sweet dark fruit-plum and fig and berry, more of the same on the palate, needs 3 years to peak in the cellar, medium/big body, mouth filling, and medium finish. This bottle sat in the office of my wife's boss for two years. Kathy brought it home and I said open it. Probably with proper storage deserves a better score.

This is in a really good place right now, with lush dark fruit that lingers through the long finish. Still a decent amount of tannin on the midpalate and beyond, but in a very unobtrusive way. Consistent with prior score (92) but now as much for current performance as for potential.

Keenan cabs never disappoint me. For this price point its hard to find a better one. Great extraction but still balanced. Medium mouth feel and wonderful cab nose. You could spend more but not get more. What other $30-$40 cabs are truly outstanding? This is one of them.
Showed poorly against a 2001 Spring Mountain Vineyards CS. The Keenan was simple in comparison with a muted profile and acidity dominating the fruit. Both had the same two hour decant so it was a fair match up.

Spring mountain is a large diverse Ava but I find the wines have a much more elegant finish than most from the valley floor. This wine is purple with long legs. The nose is blackberries, plumbs, pepper and cassis. The fruit dominates a balanced palate with good acidity and tannins that need a bit more time. Finish is a dry sour cherry. Wish I had more. How do I buy only one bottle? 5+13+16+8=92

Purple color turning a brickish red on the edge of the glass. Medium aromatics of dark fruit & plum. The palate shows dark fruit and red fruit that wasn't noticeable on the nose. The tannins are still a little chewy on the finish. It is drinking fine now but I don't think there is any hurry to drink this.

Cassis, berries, cedar, and cigar box spice sums up this this Cab. Tannins finish sweet and smooth and contribute to a nice long spicy finish. Really enjoyed this wine though for the $58 price tag I was hoping for a bit more depth and palate development.

Glorious Napa Cab, still not sure what the key differences are between the bottlers noted as 'Spring Mountain, Napa Valley' and their just stated Napa Valley offerring, but regardless this is a great bottle of wine albeit a bit too young - Black, full bodied with a classic nose of blackfruit, plum, cedar, mocha, spice and vanilla, excellent structure and balance with years left, tannic, yet off dry on the palate with terrific length, awesome (93 Points).

- Aromas of prune, strawberry jam and raisin. It's in total harmony and has flavours of blackberry, raspberry and strawberry with a medium/full body. Angular texture with a medium finish - I had this wine over the past summer and it was the WOTN a real crowd pleaser. This one took 2 hrs to open in the bottle if decanted maybe an hour. It was tight at first but once it opened up it was beautiful. If you can find the '07 buy it!

Decanted and immediately consumed, over a 3 hour window. No sediment visible. Black and Raspberry aromas with heavy oak and vanilla on the nose as well. Well-integrated tannins provide a silky mouthfeel and coating, but seem far more mature than I'd expect from the recent vintage or Mountain fruit. More dark fruit, vanilla, some leather and oak, becomes very sweet as the drinking window continues to open up. 93 within half an hour of decanting, moving down to 90 after 3 hours. At $40 solid value either way.

Concentrated blackberry with a slight sweet-tart blackberry candy aspect; soft leather, light loamy character that opened up after 15 minutes; excellent balance, medium big with good solid tannins, supporting acidity but a bit closed, young, and very compact; opened up with a touch of raisin and walnut to bring in a little complexity. Monolithic now, but should age very well. Decant now/open in 3-4 years. 91-92 PN. 92 RP

PnP; my first try for this vineyard. The fruit forward dark berries and cassis are nice, but mouthfeel a little thin and finish a bit disappointing for a $40ish CAb. Seemed like a well-built wine, maybe just doesn't suit me...

Too tannic for my taste. Decanted and allowed to breathe for 30 minutes but it never settled down. A lot of aftertaste on the palate. The tannins overpowered the flavor to the point where I wasn't able to distinguish the flavor of the fruits. Maybe opened it too early. You could tell there were some good qualities trying to show through.

Tested on well-aired bottle, 3+ hrs. Attractive nose of cocoa dust and touch of salty mineral and dark berry fruit. In the mouth a rich burst of a slightly sour mostly dark berry fruit core (blackberry or cassis or similar). Shortish finish needed some elements to add complexity and balance. 100% cab sauv. 14.3% abv. Body medium plus, acid med, tannin med. OK QPR at USD 42.

No detailed notes. This one arrived today as part of a club shipment, and I opened it to see if a reorder was warranted. On the nose, dark red fruits on a fairly forward nose. On the palate, a bit tight at present, but seems to have the same general character as the '04 I enjoyed a few years back. I recall the '05 seeming even tighter. There's some pencil shavings in there, along with the slightest green note. I think this will be much better in 2 years when the fruit firms up. 92 points on potential, 90pts now for pop/pour drinking. Good value.

Good value.
