Showing signs of age, this remains a very good bottle of wine.Wet cardboard notes are present. Well balanced with good acidity and plenty of fruit remaining. Drink soon.

Wow this was good - upside surprise. Little signs of age and tons of energy - paired with grilled salmon. Just a beautiful nose - no formal notes but cherry, minerals with some deep earthy notes - medium body on the palate and a long, juicy finish with plenty of acidity to perfectly balance the fruit. Outstanding

Dark red with clear meniscus. Dark cherry, red currants, granite on the nose. Medium body, medium acidity, integrated tannins (not noticeable) wiht a long finish. Dark cherry, cherry pit and strawberry flavor profile on the palate. This has aged extremely well and was still good on night 2 - no oxidation of the fruit. 91+

PNP and paired great with smoked chicken breasts on the bone. Dark red color with clear meniscus. Dirt, soy, black fruits on nose (would not guess Gamay). Black cherry, stone, tobacco on palate - high acidity, low tannins, medium+ body (very full for Gamay) and medium+ finish. Enjoyable but drink up. 90+

Meaty. Fruit less apparent than I would have thought for a Chiroubles - perhaps better drunken a year ago or a few years from now? I felt like I caught it in an awkward period. Thick mouth feel, balanced, so a few years won't hurt this one way or the other.

Deep purple. At first, very assertive cranberry nose and palate that was almost peppery. This fleshed out remarkably to reveal black cherry liqueur and more blueberry fruit than I can recall in a Gamay. It has the extra layer of depth which is the hallmark of so many '09s. Coffee, herb and floral complexities. Flat out marvelous wine-dry despite being ripe and retaining vibrant acidity. My only regret is blowing through all of my bottles and not having any left to track over time.

Much improved since last tried 1 year ago. Dark red in color. Nice nose and palate of plum, cherry and earth. Light, but nice and drinking perfectly. Drank well with lamb shank braised with Persian spices.

Deep purple. Beautifully pure black cherry fruit. Ripe, intense and juicy with enough tang to prevent it from seeming too full. A touch of green herbs as well. Long and mouth filling. Second time as good as the first-this is an absolute joy.

Splash decanted 5 minutes before dinner. Very dark flavor profile for a Beaujolais. Plum, black chery, & a nice floral scent on the nose. Black cherry, cherry, wet stone on the palate - fruit was very bright given high acids. Easy to drink & great with food. Medium body and medium+ finish. 90+ and would buy again.

Medium ruby, not brilliantly clear. Dark cherry aromatics. Meaty, serious, deeply imbued fruit and a dash of herbs without any heaviness. Wonderfully harmonious feel. Quite brilliant and in my book, this ranks right up there amongst the best '09 cru Beaujolais I've tried. First experience with Bouland, about whom I've heard great things. Apparently, they are true.

Light cherry in color. Nice nose of cherry and raspberry. Chiroubles the lightest of the Crus and this bore this out. Mostly sour cherry and minerality on the palate. Looking for more fruit than it showed. Decent quaffer, but not one of the better 09s that I have tried.

Great nose - fruit is well balance w/ minerals, crushed rock and candied notes - really interesting. seems like the wine is a bit dumbed down now but time will tell. well balanced in the mouth w/ decent acidity and alcohol (13.5%) - a tiny bit of residual sweatness. Delicious wine and a quaffer.

Fruity and delicious, tannins tug in the finish. But this is missing the mineral streak found in some of Bouland's crus. Even if it's not entirely representative of a traditional Bojo cru, can't fault it. Still works well on its own and at the table. Agree that it benefits from a cooler serving temp.

Pop and pour from wine fridge (11°C). Delicious, very nice balance of fruit and acidity, the alcohol is well hidden at the lower temperature but gets a bit noticable on the nose when the wine warms up. A tiny bit of CO2 can be felt, which brings even more refreshment. A lot of fruit. Not the wine for Bojo classicists, but it's darn delicious and fun. Party wine.

Consistent with my first note, this is strawberry creme on the front side, showing more ooomph and structure today though with a grippy finish. Todays showing makes me think some short term cellaring might be good to open this one up, although I did not decant tonight either. Nice wine and good value, probably not going to convert you if you dont already like Gamay though.

Like all the 09 Boulands I've had so far, this shows impressive structure. The color is just stunning. A perfect cross between purple and red. Intense minerality, chalk, and tannin cloak beautiful raspberry fruit. No need to rush in on this. There is plenty of room for improvement.

Bubblegum fruitiness and talcum powder on the nose; quite intense on the palate, with some pepper showing among the fruits, which are a bit darker than the other beaujolais tasted today. Definitely a more serious bojo. Still not quite my thing, but juicy and good. 88-89 for me.

The nose on this one is just explosive of fresh strawberry and cherry and to me is really the highlight of this wine. Light but full and silky on the palate, just glides over your tongue. Has some tannin but really not strong or intrusive, would seem to be a early drinker to me. I dont get a lot of complexity here, with the fruit and mouthfeel it almost like a very restrained CA pinot style, yet there is no question you are drinking Gamay.

2009 Beaujolais (Dino, Washington DC): Nice nose, some earth, and bright cherry and raspberries. Delicate on the palate with impressive structure and length. Showed well.

Retail tasting so poor notes - dark purple color - full bodied for a Gamay - nice aromatics (strawberry / touch of earth), medium finish. Very nice wine for the money.

Dark purple color. Red fruit nose. On the palate strawberry, black cherry and spice, nice soft ripe tannins. Medium finish. Not the complexity and structure as the Morgen vv.

Wow, amazing concentration - I can see what the 09 vintage is going to be like. That said, it just didn't come together for me. I liked the wine but it wasn't a strong re-buy.
