Getting to be advanced - light golden in color and a faint oxidative note. Fruit is still nice, weight still nice, but no longer crisp and mineral-dominated as I expect it to be.

This was really outstanding Chablis. It was in a great place, showing a lovely balance, great acidity, and a real elegance. Floral on the nose, with a wiff of hazelnuts. On the palate it had a wonderful minerality, and a saline essence of fresh oysters, and sea brine. Also some lemon peel and a very nice finish. Utterly delightful. Looking for more. It was nowhere near peak. Has a long way to go.

93, at least. Very enjoyable. Enough acidity and minerality to be exciting, balanced with excellent mature grapes and subtle wood. Color still looks very young. A great choice for drinking without food - better in that sense than many Chablis - and it perfect companion to suitable light food, such as chicken breasts or lobster. I suspect it may develop nice secondary characteristics and deep golden color over several more years, TBD.

Uncles Fine Wine Spring BYO (Home): Faint tropical tones on the nose. Sublime and elegant without giving much. When it comes to Chablis there is no better and more consistent producer than fevre. As far as the grand crus go, this one was my least favorite. Although 2009 is a good vintage, it is not great. Compared to the other 2009 Chablis grand crus I have tried, this one is by far the least refined and the most one dimensional on the pallet. This one has an overly acidic mouthful with grapefruit/green apple. Each sip smacks you in the face. The wine is still enjoyable but perils in comparison to all other fevre I have tried.

It‘s medium-full bodied, but feels almost weightless, has superb mid-palate persistence, medium-high acidity. Very long finish. Obvious big fruit of a warm vintage which gives it immediate appeal. Finish has some of the sharper Chablis character and hint of chalk at the end... but could masquerade as a first class Puligny. Very good balance and acidity. Really well done!

A year since I opened the last one, and not much has changed. This continues to be an unexciting wine - the nose being so-so at best and the palate, pretty much the same. However, when it was paired to some scallops with an Alton Brown recipe (sauce) that called for soy, garlic, chopped green onions, etc., this wine deftly picked apart all the flavors in the dish and turned them up a few notches. So, on its own, meh, with the right food, good>very good. Not sure I'd sit on these if I had any more - given my experiences with the three I've opened since release.
Audozed 3 hours, served at 53F, non-blind.

Darker golden color, wet leaves nose, dead palate: that's amoré...or rather, PREMOX. I wish Burgundy could figure out a solution to this ongoing dilemma because it's exceedingly frustrating--especially when it's an aged bottle that is difficult/impossible to replace with the same provenance. Buy from reputable vendors that will rectify the flawed bottle, folks.

Excellent. Perfectly balanced. I love the interplay of the creamy lees with the zippy citrus, green apple, and salinity. The finish is exceptionally intense and long.

This was nice right out of the bottle, chilled. But from the second day on, not so interesting. I speculate that it's still way young, in GC Chablis terms, and should be drunk immediately or put away for 5-6 years. The alternative is that it's not very special wine. Not sure which.

Initially a little funk, but in 15-20 minutes this dissipated to reveal a sharply defined Chablis character with good balance of fruit and minerals. Has some of the big fruit of 2009, but this wine is more classically appealing than the Vaudesir of the same vintage. At peak just now.

Very nice wine, with GC intensity and good Chablis minerality, if a bit light, relatively. A residue of '09 fat, which seems to go away overnight, leaving a fairly lean but brothy wine. No regrets, should develop yet a while, imho. Less weight than that '04 Bougrots Bouguerots we drank from magnum at Thanksgiving.

Burgers and wines @ home (Milford, CT): As a Chardonnay, this is pretty good, with a nice plump middle and clean, fresh fruit. However, as this is Chablis, it doesn't quite meet its performance parameters. No chalk or brine notes. Not really focused and precise. A bit creamy actually. This got a bit better on the second day, and was quite drinkable, but again, a disappointment given what it should be... Grand Cru Chablis.

Burgers and wine at Marco's (Milford, CT): Better than my last bottle, but still a disappointment given the price and the hype I heard from some others. Ripe citrus and pear fruit with faint floral tinges, and stony mineral elements that emerge with more air, but it feels rather thick and broad on the palate without the precision I usually look for in Chablis, or the depth and complexity I'd expect from a site like Preuses.

Nice enough, but not at the level I expect from a Fèvre Preuses. Simple, with sweet orchard fruit flavors, and a bit shy in terms of acidity. Leo's Blind Tasting Group - June '15 edition (Amali, NYC): Doesn't live up to its label or price point at all. Bright citrus and pear fruit and some stony mineral notes beneath that emerge with more air, but not a lot in the way of depth or complexity. There's nice balance with decent if not especially vibrant acidity beneath, but this drinks like a fairly simple village wine. Very disappointing.
LBTG blind - very very brief notes (Amali, NYC): Not at all open, fairly boring; richer body; not particularly enjoyable. Worst wine of the first two flights. All were disappointed at reveal.
A bit steely and simple upon opening but gained complexity over an hour or two in the glass adding a mineral spine and notes of saline. Very pure and focused wine. Great showing.

Much like the btl tasted in January. Purchased locally in Feb at retail, the cork had a relatively high soak like a 10yr old+ btl that was a bit worrisome but, the wine was in great shape. Medium gold color. Again, lots of mouth coating minerality and obvious grand cru power. One more left that I'll drink this year or next given the cork condition on this btl.

Pale white gold translucent. Sea spray, lemon, lime aromas. Lemon, lime, orange mid palate, late medium minus mineral acidity refreshes into the long finish. Two hours open, the 2009 vintage carries a medium/ full bodied weight with a suppleness of delivery that is mouth filling enjoyment. Yet to earn its stripes as an aged Chablis, the years may build upon the ample fruit to showcase a more complete wine.

On PnP: Shy at first, but with a few swirls, oyster shell, capsicum, white pepper, flint, apple; a touch of sauvage. Medium entry, but wastes no time adding weight; a little quinine on the very end. Notable length, breadth, though not nearly as complex as it stands to become by the end of the decade, and beyond. By the second glass, a swath of butterscotch. This is fantastic. I'l let it aerate in decanter for an hour, return to bottle and serve 2 hours later. 13,0% abv. highly recommended
Served non-blind.

Clear, pale lemon-green in color, exhibiting developing aromas of ripe lemon, lime, green apple and chalk. Dry w/medium levels of acidity and alcohol; beautifully balanced flavors of aforementioned profiles are squarely placed upon a foundation of chalk. Voluminous and richly textured; fruit is deftly interwoven with refreshing minerality present. Provides a round evenly distributed snappy finish. Great now and should only get better going forward.

Maybe I had a co WOTN tonight as this was very impressive. A laser beam of drenching minerality and citrus. Only had a small sip but this was outstanding and a surprise for the reputation of 2009 as being more flabby. I may need to start buying these from Fevre again. Proof again, for me, that Preuses is the greatest grand Cru in Chablis.

Monthly Tasting Group: Barolo & Barbaresco (Cafe Lurcat, Mpls, MN): This came through at an awkward time in the tasting with where our food was at. It got back burnered and was revisited later. I do think the extra time in glass served it well as it seemed a bit closed up initially. Ultimately there was a nice core of citrus fruit with lemon, lime, pear and minerality that that refreshes nicely and seems pretty persistent. Still could use a year or two IMO.

Initially, soft spoken and not expressing the classic tightness of Grand Cru Chablis. After an hour in the glass the texture firmed up and an array of lemon, citrus, and mineral scents and flavors emerged into quite a big and complete wine. Great Chablis, like this, is a far cry from Chardonnay's expression everywhere else outside of Northern France.

I fell in love with the 2004 Fevre's and haven't found the same magic in subsequent vintages. Perhaps these (and the other Fevre's in my cellar) just need to sleep a bit longer.

Very precise. no baby fat. A little hesitant on the nose, but overall rocks and minerals and some citrus fruits. A pure joy.

Floral nose--heady with a fruity mid-palate; very fine chalky character with great intensity; tart tropical notes and minerals in the finish. Very good. Tasted at the Domaine.

Very balanced and a good mix of fruit, minerals and light oak but less developed and more closed than other 2009 GC´s.

Excellent Chablis. A bit fatter than expected (2009 vintage is big) with vibrant acidity and minerality on the finish. I'd buy the 2008 over this despite its greatness.
