At tasting. Brief note. Nose and palate show big, sweet fruit paste upfront, toffee and date cake, and milk chocolate. Slightly tannic backbone to this to give structure to a wine that really needs it. Long, sweet finish is simple yet satisfying. This is shockingly well balanced. I'm starting to see a trend I like across the board with aged Ridge.

Purchased from the Lytton winery back in a visit in '04 or '05. Big fruit, jam flavors. Not the thinking man's wine, just a big glass of hearty zin. Enjoyed and consumed quickly on a Friday night at home.

2002 Ridge Jimsomare “Late Picked” Zinfandel Way too ripe and over the top for me and not my cup of tea. Yet this will be attractive to those who like rich ripe wines. 15.6% ABV 87 Points

At first too sweet and hot -- Waugh-like. Settled down and was better after a few hours in the decanter. After time, more Turley-like. Still not as good as the other Ridge wines. I'd probably stick with the non-Late Picked Ridge wines.

Lots of glycerin. Strong even for Ridge.

Tend to agree with rourkem. VERY jammy, too much so really. I tasted this before buying, not quite sure why I purchased. Maybe my wife liked it.
