A bunch of Sineann with friends (Our home): Very good showing. Seems to still be on the young side of maturity. These tend to be big in their youth, but this has started to show some femininity Cherries and slightly earthy on the nose. On the palate, there is a nice round balance here. Some layers of cherries, sour cherries and earth. Nice finish. At $30, this was a good value.
Garnet with med-lite viscosity in the glass. Bramble, black licorice, black cherry and cinnamon on the nose. Medium body and tight with cherry and coffee on the palate. Cassis on the back. Dusty, stemmy tannin. Med-short finish.
5th in a flight of 6 Pinot Noir from various, Oregon, California, New Zealand. In the glass: Deep ruby, clear. On the nose: Strong liquorice, vanilla, spice box, a little red fruit. In the mouth: Concentrated, full mouth feel, light tannins, medium grip on the tongue, a little pencil shavings at the finish. A better than average Pinot, very lovely. Retail $32 would have bought some, but they were out!! Will definitely visit the winery to try a few others as this was very nice indeed!
Shows some mixed berry, soy and floral scents, mouth filling, with dark cherry and spices on the palate, very characteristic of Oregon pn but no differentiation within the appellation, overall this is delicious juice that works well with BBQ chicken, love the glass "cork"
Memorial Day weekend tasting (Willamette Valley/Ribbon Ridge, Oregon): Pretty decent this year! Tons of large fruit on the nose. The palate shows chunky fruit, a bit saucy and creamy, but the acid is keeping the fruit and spice in balance. More acids on the finish that are quite nice. This is a chugable Oregon Pinot, and the price is very attractive.
