The wine shows some wonderful aromas in the nose - cassis, berries, touch of mocha. Upon tasting, the wine reveals balanced acidity with relaxed tannins. The same nose surfaces along with delicate terroir of leather, oak. For the price, this is a tough wine to beat. I have an italian dinner tomorrow and my last bottled is destined to be uncorked.

Deep red with a touch of browner tones. Softer cherrier on the nose. Still good tannins but the cabernet s and merlot is more evident now than in a younger le volte. Lots of sediment in the bottle.

Very nice bottle, had with pizza. Very dark colour, barnyard nose. Soft, rolling fruit with a slight inky taste , lovely Sangiovese fruit coming through nicely blending with merlot softness. Not very opulent but calm and harmonius and still some tight, dry tannins. A very nice food wine for everyday luxury :-)

Plum, flowers, leather, cedar, hay, cigarbox flavors. Chewy tannins. Well balanced. Reasonably long. Opening up after an hour or more. Good value for its price.

An excellent wine - Dominated by Sangiovese notes, it was dark and brooding, concentrated with notes of flowers, earth, plum, mocha and oak notes on the nose, complex and balanced with a long finish (unfortunately, drank in poor stems) (90 Points).

Concentrated dark purple, rich fruit nose, with touch of mocha and vanilla, sweet on the palate with mild tannins, nicely structured - Great QPR! (90 Points).

Drank over the course of 1.5hrs, without decanting. I think aeration would have helped becuase it wasn't until the last few sips that I got the red cherry flavors that I was anticipating. The sangiovese seemed to dominate early on, but the Merlot and Cab kicked in by the last glass. This wine is a decent value at <$20, but it's certainly not exraordinary.

The overuse of oak spoiled this wine for me. There was a decent wine lurking underneath the oak but it was overwhelmed. Included in a restaurant flight.

Dark clear purple color and a firm nose of black fruit and a tad of a tar background. Medium entry, but a full grip thru mid palate and finish without an overwhelming tannic structure, as the fruit was just short of flabby. A good earthy wine for Italian comfort food.

Garnet-purple; intense black cherries, mint, black currants; dried cherry, medium body, good balance, good acidity, firm ripe tannins, nice finish. Well blended and well balanced early drinker from a top producer.

Good, still kicking, took an hour to come together. A lot of fruit still and while no superstar this really is great value.

Light and tart flavors of cherry and oak upon opening, the tartness resolved and the flavors became more lush the second night.

Dark purple in color. Sweet cherries, currants, vanilla, and oak. The CS and Merlot over shadowed the Sangiovese but still a very nice bottle.

Clear with medium red color and a corresponding boquet of cherries with a slighty oaky finish. A nice drinking wine.
