Not the best of the Ojai Pinots, but better than most of its competitors. Very food-friendly (baked salmon in this case), bright tart-cherry fruit, nicely balanced with round tannins.

Blind at Auggie's: Med. ruby red; bubble gum, red raspberry, blackberry, yeasty, parsley, tea, cola; red fruit dominates, meat, chocolate cherries; mouth has cranberry, nutmeg-cinnamon, strawberry, earth, herbal notes of bay leaf, eucalyptus. A touch hot, good acid. Guessed NZ Pinot b/c the herbal quality.

Big nose cherries and cinnamon. A little cloying on the palate with residual sugar, red fruits, just hints of spice, much less than previous (3 mo ago). Fairly simple. Med bodied. Balance improved with 1+hr decanting, but flavor profile fairly limited though a more spice like you'd expect form Bien Nacido. Good but not great.

mild spice and cherry obertones on nose. Burst of sweet fruit with rich mid palate feel, cherry blackberry, with light body finish and mild tannins. Great end of summer drink, perhaps too sweet for most food with pinot, but very pleasurable for cocktails and chatting. Almost as good the next day, no expert but I think this is a drink up now item

Pretty nose with touches of earth, but the palate doesn't quite live up. Quite tannic with some bitterness on the palate, that may resolve someday. Needs some verve though. 87

Santa Barbara Pinot the way it should be made. Deep, deep color, berries on the nose, with berries and cheries and on the palate. Not a touch too much oak or alcohol. This is a stunning wine.

Deep ruby hue. Red berry nose with some cola notes. Tastes of raspberry, blackberry, and cola. Charred oak backbone. Medium bodied with decent balance. Fruit forward finish. 14% alcohol.

Ojai and Burgundies - Not a Bad Saturday (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): bright purple colored in the glass. reduced cherries, raspberries and chocolate cake on the nose. yeah, yeah, yeah, this doesn't smell like pinot, but it smells damned good. straight-up schwartzwaldenkuche (black forest cake). so rich and creamy on the palate that i can't help but love this wine. dark fruit, chocolate cake, raspberry pie filling and purple laffy taffy candy. rich, but not gloppy.

fragrant nose. nice acidity. verve. licorice. spice. a bit of candied cherry fruit that is in the way of an otherwise very pretty wine from Ojai.

Lush aromas of earth and blackberry. Cherry, blackberry, with a bit of dark chocolate on a long finish.
