consistent with the vintage, this wine is now open and generous, with forward nose and palate. Prune, chocolate and spices. Laccking the finesse and restraint that I hold dear in CNP and that were abundant in the Grand Veneur Les Origines 2006 that followed it. Drink remaining bottles soon

My go to C9dP! No heat as so many have: bramble, plum, earthy, blackberry, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate note, fig, medium to full body, nice long dark fruit driven finish.

Bright garnet color. Pretty red raspberry and blackberry with a hint of strawberry. Mineral driven vibrancy with a lighter palate and a hint of dried, tart cherry, blueberry cobbler crust and spice. Grippy tannins and firm structure. This wine is lovely.
p.s. stuffed Cornish game hens with grilled asparagus

Blackberry preserves, perfume, deep violets, mountain laurels with wet stones and sweet leather. The wine seemed to get bigger with time in the glass. Light velvet on the palate with substaintially integrated tannins, but still young and has years to evolve.

Hugely disappointing given the hype and price—this should be in the core drinking window. Instead it was mostly tired stewed fruit, even if it was complex stew (herbal and licorice). Sad. Probably more the specific bottle than the wine overall based on other reviews.

Purple, ruby hue. Violets/floral notes but somewhat muted on the nose. Vanilla, blackberry and a lovely blueberry ice cream. Still a very young, but fun to try.
p.s. Israeli hummus with pita, lamp balls and sweet breads.

I know I know, it is too early to open this bottle, but I wanted to give myself a treat tonight after a great birthday of my friend, so I did pop it open. The first 5-10 minutes - dull and empty, severely "not ready". After 30 minutes however there came some very beautiful notes of menthol, tabacco and chocolate. Obviously this bottle is far from its peak but I just think that rather than waiting another 10-15 years, I would try this one now, and buy a bottle of 95-2000 later this year. It is not that expansive. Overall a good experience but still I think good CdP should age 20-25+ years to be at their best! I will wait another 2 hours now and let you guys know if it gets much better after....

Showing great w/ classic French food at Chapeau in SF. Wonderful spicy deep dark fruit - plum, black cherry, cassis.. Unctuous fruit but still super fresh with some spice and minerality. Yum!

A little Rhône fun during Christmas Eve dinner with a North/South option for our surf and turf affair of sous vide New York Strips and Ribeyes with King Crab legs. Popped and poured, this was a magnificent and lush example with perfectly ripe brambles, garrigue and spiced fruitcake. Mouth coating without feeling heavy or overbearing in anyway. Tannins are resolved and I can say with a high degree of confidence that these are in a great place for drinking now. In case anyone was wondering, the Northern Rhône we drank alongside was a European bottled B. Levet Côte Rôtie “Les Journaries” (known there as “La Maestria”).

We drank this wine after an extremely balanced and food friendly 2011 Vacqueras. Striking how over-ripe and stewed the Boisrenard was. Really speaks to the importance of vintage and reminds me to steer away from vaunted "big" vintages that too often bring in the high scores but lack finesse. Not sure where this wine is heading but I don't see a lot of upsides in terms of evolution

Rhone varietals on a Saturday afternoon (Chesterland): Inky purple in color. Shimmering bright. The nose is dusty with black raspberries, black licorice and spice. Tannic. Slightly bitter purple fruit on the palate, which I like. Tightly packed. I was surprised at the vintage as most 09's have been so accessible, but this seems to need time. It got better thru the afternoon. Nice showing.

Very young, but delicious. Did not detect any shutting down on this. Powerful nose that filled the room. Delicious after about 45 minutes of decanting.

A hint of oak remains, along with copious amounts of lush, fat, juicy cherries, fennel and kirsch. Rich, round and forward, you can drink it now, if you like it on the young side, or give it more time in the bottle.

Pnp at cellar temperature, subtle nose of dark fruit and minerals, a little alcohol. Delicious and mouth-filling on the palate, with dark fruit , nice bright acid, and a hint of earth. Very nicely balanced. Long finish with sweet tannins. Very nice.

Not my favorite among recent CDP from the 2009 vintage. Medium ruby, with a gamey nose dominated by strawberry fruit, but overlaid with toffee and creosote. The palate is unsubtle and a bit out of balance, showing sweet fruit but also an aggressive, somewhat oaky tannic profile that seems poorly integrated and even a bit bitter.

another nice 2009 cdp. nose of ripe jammy fruit and sweet earth. palate follows with blueberries, jammy fruit and nice floral character. overall simple but enjoyable. finish is clean but nothing too special. a nice drink.

Still full bodies, with lots of fruit and structure , but just lacks the secondary flavors and nuance I recall in the 2010
