Cool stuff. This domaine is really showing it's worth in a warm vintage like this, a vertical wine with a sound, tru blue fruit, good local feel and this impeccable freshness, that you really have to love. Still young, drinking window just open. #Kandestederne

Dark plums, kirsch and showed good balance and acidity for a CdP from a warm vintage. Liked this and the 2019 that I tried at the domaine more than the 2001, so these might be better at around 15 years of age maximum.

Root Day - Amazing bottle! Super silky on the palate. Gorgeous nose of secondary and tertiary elements - forest floor, dried dark fruit, crushed leaves and herbs. Complex and long on both palate and finish. Went beautifully with duck cassoulet but was also enjoyed after the meal as a contemplative wine sipped by itself.

Wound up opening two bottles as the first one was tainted. The second bottle we had a glass of and then i recorked and put into the fridge. Sunday night we finished the bottle. Nice palate of dark cherry, raspberry, sandalwood and spice. The finish was moderate to long with a slightly sweet taste which made it very pleasant to drink. Finished it with an assortment of cheese.

Medium ruby in appearance. Some lightening at age 12 or so.
Pronounced and fully evolved nose of cherry liqueur , red fruit, baking spice, vanilla and some savory elements. Not over powering in any way and very elegant.
Full bodied on the palate with medium acidity. Long and delicious finish.
Very well done . In my view this is the "Burgundy of the Southern Rhone". Drink now or if you are gambler hold for another 5-10 years in a cold cellar.

Another one bites the dust as the lockdown enters month 10! Its a good thing I purchased aggressively when I was young.....
Medium ruby in appearance. Some lightening compare to a bottle drunk about 6 months ago.
Beautiful , classy and pronounced nose of cherry liqueur , red fruit, baking spice, vanilla and some savory elements. Just a gorgeous nose that is almost more Burgundy than Rhone...Almost...
Full bodied on the palate with medium acidity. The finish trends towards the long end of the spectrum and is just delicious.
Drinking great now, but aging Grenache is always a roll of the dice, so I would opt to drink up

Exuberant, sensual, intense, very mature, almost burned fruit, garrigue, leather, caramel. Very concentrated and phenolic, this CdP is difficult to resist. Perfect sparring partner of your lamb or BBQed meat. Don't wait too long for it!

Pronounced and evolving nose of candied red fruit, baking spice and some savory elements.
Full bodied on the palate with medium acidity - just a beautiful mouthfeel. The finish is medium plus and savory.
A delicious example of this cuvee- maybe a bit more weight than previous vintages (except 07). Aging Grenache is always a roll of the dice, so I would opt to drink up.

I'll start by saying, how sad I am that this is my last bottle. The bouquet was gorgeous, completely seductive, hedonistic style, of Chateauneuf du Pape, yet balanced, showing rich plum sauce, crushed black cherry, sweet violet florals, tobacco, mountainous herbs and smoky minerals. On the palate, silky textures flooded the senses with both sweet and sour cherry as well as ripe blueberries, as notes of licorice, dark chocolate, sweet-penetrating spices and zesty acids saturated. The finish was long, showing dark red and black fruits, spice, resonating tobacco and sweet herbs, black licorice taking the lead, with just a hint of fine tannin lingering.

Still extremely young with plenty of kirsch and a vibrant presence; the fruit is sweet and concentrated, minerals galore, true to the cuvee's charater - and to the vintage. Needs more time.

Bolldozer CdP. Exuberant sweetness and aromatic intensity. Intense, supermature, almost burned fruit, garrigue, leather, caramel. Very concentrated and phenolic, this Rhône ambassador knocks you out of the seat. Perfect sparring partner of your lamb or BBQed meat. Dive in it now!

Dream "accord" with our grilled duck breast. Exuberant sweetness and aromatic intensity. Rhône at first sight, with almost burned fruit, garrigue, leather, caramel. Very concentrated and phenolic, this "charm" bulldozer knocks you out of your seat.

There's no need to wait on the '09 Les Quartz, because it's in a perfect place right now. The bouquet was dark, rich, luxurious and verging on hedonism with a display of sweet confectionary spices, masses of black currants, baked plum, haunting floral tones and grilled herbs. On the palate, I found velvety textures with glycerol weighted black fruits, sweet and savory herbs, violet candies, dusty minerals and spice, all balanced by brisk acidity. Notes of sweet black currants, fresh cherry and cinnamon spice lingered on the finish for well over a minute, with the slightest hint of heat-forgivable considering that balance here.
High/Low Blind Tasting - Can you taste the difference? (Amy and Scott's house): A 1 hour decant, served blind alongside a 2009 Domaine La Garrigue Vacqueyras La Cantarelle. This wine got 7 out of 14 votes, including mine. The two wines were actually quite similar, but it was evident to me that the complexity in the Quartz was completely on another level. There is a lot of different aromas and tastes here. I felt the Cantarelle was probably at peak whereas this wine is on the way up.

Plums and dark cherries dominate the palate on this wine. It is still a very young wine but we opened a bottle to see where it’s at. And it's in a good place.
Upon opening, lots of funk and fungus odors. Calmed down during decant. 1 hour. Dominant flavors of plum and cherry with subtle spice, earth and cedar. I suspect the fruit will soften with time. This is a concentrated, layered, elegant wine.

From a blend of 85% old vine Grenache and 15% Syrah, this concentrated, ripe, rich wine serves up a delicious mouthful of sweet, ripe and overripe cherries, fresh jammy strawberries, spice and herbs. As good as this is now, it should get even better with a few more years of age.

Opened and decanted for 2 hours, this clearly young wine was still open and delicious. pure kirsch in the mid palate, spice in the nose and both evolved with drinking. Fruit still paramount, a little heat but integrated well with a good finish. Worried I only have 3 left. Not suprising a great match for leg of lamb provencal.

Way to young, of course, but it works when Denmark is trashing Norway. Big wine. Sweet kirsch, initially quite alcoholic, sweet tannins, the alcohol does wear of a bit, and balance is found, when loads of black fruits appears .... nice, and typical of 2009.
