Still alive and some good blackcurrant fruit left with plenty of tomato leak and green pepper now mixing with a bit of graphite and earth. The nose is great and very true to type, the palate is more anonymous and a bit short but as a cheap mixed lot at auction it’s a pleasant surprise

Opened a bottle last year and thought it was too old. General impression much the same as MMMMISHA below. Categorized it as cooking wine.
Forgetting that opened another bottle last night and got the good version. distinctive nose with pipe smoke and dark fruit. Palate was blackberries with a hint of cassis. Short finish. Have one more bottle to break the tie.

Dark fruit on the nose but very disappointing in the mouth. Thin and tough. I agree with others who have said cigar ash, but not in a good way. I ended up using it for cooking and opened something else to drink.
Not sure what the other reviewers were drinking, but it couldn't have been the same wine. I found this wine completely enjoyable -- juicy fruit, with a dry, earthy finish, well balanced, with good length.

Day 1: Nice nose but awful finish. Almost undrinkable and it felt like chewing on an old shoe or eating from an ashtray (at least that's how I imagine the taste of these) (68 points) Day 2: The tannins subsided a bit and the wine became approachable. Still very green, leathery and a lot of tobacco, but with a hearty meal it was quite ok/good. This would need to be cellared for quite some time but there is not enough there to develop into something really interesting...

Big, big wonderful nose. small amounts of tobacco and herbs, maybe a little dark cherry. Flavor of a cigar. Mouth feels like the day after smoking cigars and not brushing teeth.

Perfectly congenial wine. A bit of heat on the nose, offset by pretty floral and herbal aromas. Elegant tannins up front followed by sweet minerality, balanced acidity and ever so welcome hints of framboise and cherry cordial. A lovely (and imminently quaffable) value that speaks to you only moments after opening.

Dark garnet color with leather, cassis, and faint floral aromas. On the palate, approaching medium bodied, with good acidity, though a bit tannic with dark cherry, cassis and mineral flavors. Medium finish.

Took over a day after opening for the tannins to calm down. Floral nose and a plummy mid-palate were more prominent after waiting a couple of days. The finish wasn't particularly memorable.

Leather. . . I've read this word to describe wines before, and this one deifnately had the nose. The fruit took a back seat, but the wine was quite nice with the meal of lamb chops, roasted vegetables and brown rice.

Nose of plum, tomato, herb, vanilla; on drinking, wine was hot, acidic, and tannic; not a lot of fruit, more focus on savory/structural elements; flavors still a little impenetrable because of the high tannins and acidity

Loamy nose, medium body, tart raspberry on that palate, lots of acidty. Nervy and angular on night one, this was a little more plush on night 2. Really enjoyed, great for the price ($10).
I may have found my go-to fall/winter midweek wine.

Consistent with previous note, perhaps a little juicer this time around. Great QPR for $10.

Medicinal cab franc aroma and finish, but good fruit & body as well. Very drinkable but characteristic.

Probably shouldn't have decanted it as it was better straight from the bottle. Simple.

Quite good. Great nose- lots of floral notes, medium bodied with good length. Dry. If you like the style, this is a good representation.
