Ten years since my last bottle, time flies. Quite good, and a pleasant surprise for a year and vineyard I love, but a producer I don’t really drink much anymore. Fully mature, balanced, savory, and interesting. Really nice.

Decanted for about 2 hours. The wine shows a nice combination of earthy minerals and pure red berry fruit. Supremely elegant with a touch of oak spice towards the finish. Certainly a little lighter styled then I was expecting and while it was a very enjoyable treat, it didn't blow me away like the same wine from Girardin did late last year.

Pure and mineral driven. This is not a big and flashy wine (the contrast was clear next to the '02 Lignier Michelot CdlR), but is true to the vineyard and fun to drink. Approachable now, but no hurry.

Clos De La Roche Dinner (The Ledbury, London): Clos de la Roche Dinner - medium ruby colored, nose of violets, cherries and wood. medium length wine but i felt it was somewhat over oaked and a bit grippy

A solid and enjoyable wine. This will never be confused for CA pinot and really highlights the concept of terroir transparency. An elegant and mineral driven wine that I really like. Still plenty of development to come; one to try again in 3 years or so.

Difficult to evaluate. Very light nose. Sappy fruit upfront with some odd notes - Burghound called it cigarette ash - and feeling of wood more than taste. Some hours have blown this off and there is a good core of fruit with nice mineral notes. Finish clean, but short.

Very classic. Nothing too showy here, lighter in style with good balance, nice terrior and fruit, silky but shorter finish.
