During PNV week, dinner at the vintners home, really spectacular setting and great hosts!
Drank after the 2011 from a magnum. Classic Spring Mountain profile, nice dark fruits, toasted oak, blackberrry. cassis. Medium tannins, integrated and mellowing. Big wine, still young. Aging nicely, IMO this will add complexity with cellar time, would revisit in 2015+

Fruit bomb. Nice spice but spring MTN fruit was in your face, carried the day. Got better with an hour +. Going to let this one go dormant for a bit. See you in a few years.

Very young. Has promise, but has youthful tartness. Tannins are sharp. The core is a classic sprin mountain. Very interested to see how this one shapes up in 2013.

I know I'm contrarian since I liked the 06 better than the fruitier 07, but this 08 was a bit fruity for me too. I think the more classically styled 06 was more to me tastes. Still a nice wine, just slightly more parkerized than i expected.

This was good, not great. Cassis liqueur note was too strong, I thought, both on the nose and palate.

Nice and drinkable. No flaws. No sediment. Nice dark (red, blue, black) fruits. Low tannin. Low alcohol. SHort finish.

Powerful, with sharp tannins, toasty oak and sweet cassis showing strong. Softened up a bit as it opened up, but it's really young now. Give it time.
Note: Score is for the wine as it stands now. Should improve as it matures, which will be 2013-2019.

somewhat disjointed and I don't know if the tannins will resolve before the fruit dulls out. Alcohol is hot.
