(FLACCIANELLO) Flaccianello Dear Friends, A pristine parcel of Flaccionello magnums is set to arrive directly from the source. This is the smallest crop they've ever had for the wine and the magnums are in short supply (we went from our normal allocation before the harvest to none after they bottled but I was still able to get a few - albeit at a high cost). You can try direct importing these out of Germany to save some money (it's worth a try) but I can offer winery direct provenance in exchange for the high cost. After tasting the wine for the third time, I am of the belief that it is getting stronger and stronger (thus I took the plunge on the magnums) - reminds me of 2001 Burgundy or Bordeaux - not as massively in your face as an obvious vintage but (in time) could be divinely subtle and suave. Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of material here but it shows a more classic sensibility and more direct reflection of minerality than the norm - more Lafite than Latour: EXTREMELY LIMITED - only 36 magnums for the entire US including all restaurants (not kidding) 2005 Flaccianello (Fontodi) 1.5lt Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy5470
