(MICHEL GAY Beaune-Coucherias) 2005 Red Burgundy Dear Friends, I just got back from tasting this set of wines and they have come around substantially since bottling (in a similar fashion to many of the tight 2005s). At their respective tariffs, they represent outstanding price/value at this point for 2005 red Burgundy and will pair with a number of dishes in a stellar fashion. Due to limited quantities, that's all I will say but I will include the original Burghound reviews and you can use your own imagination as to their positive evolution. The silly part is that the 88 and 89pt scores mean nothing when it comes to your dinner table - both will make for enticing drinking over the next 6-8 years (at a minimum) and they should continue to improve... 2005 Michel Gay et Fils Beaune-Coucherias 1er Vieilles Vignes (BH88) (This wine has become especially strong) 2005 Michel Gay et Fils Savigny-Les-Beaune "Serpentieres" 1er (BH89) (make sure any comparable listings you see are Michel Gay et Fils, not Francois Gay which is cheaper) A 20 year wine if stored properly? Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg7224 Burg7225
