(Giacomo Conterno Barolo) At first the nose had a tomatoey dried cocoa powder element but then after an 1 hour it really came together and had spice, flowers, mature cherry fruit and wet earth on the nose. Also an intriguing hint of chocolate. Supple and ripe on the palate. Long finish with ripe tannins. At first it was very tannic but as the wine aerated the tannins became integrated with the rest of the wine. I say this wine will live for at least 20 more years. As it was just reaching maturity.
