(ST. GEORGES Galevan CdP) Chateauneuf Dear Friends, I'm not going to say much about the wines below as they were very hard to come by - this parcel was like pulling teeth to procure. Domaine Galevan will be a new pilgrimage for most of you and their 2009 CdP entrance on our shores is a memorable one indeed. This is an estate to keep a close eye on as they are set to ascend to a level held by the most respected in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Galevan reminds me of Marcoux 20 years ago with a similar injection of feminine sensibility and bargain prices for the level they are playing in. I'm not sure if you’ve noticed but I’ve presented a majority of woman-owned and operated properties of late as they deserve far more attention in the wine-world. Even in year 2010, many continue to have a strike against them in a male-dominated industry that seems to consider many of these properties a dalliance rather than a serious venture. That is ridiculous as most of the affable and creative woman winemakers we present to you are at the very head of their class – regardless of gender. Let’s prove the nay-sayers wrong by giving Coralie Goumarre our undue support – her wine deserves it. This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with perfect provenance. Both wines are VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the style: 2009 Domaine Galévan Chateauneuf du Pape - (WA91-93+) 2009 Domaine Galevan Chateauneuf du Pape “St Georges” - (WA92-94) (This wine is better than many of the top-rated $75+ wines from 2007 – if you like the carnival style of 2007, this will find much to admire here – JR) Please give us your maximum number up to 12/each wine and we will allocate accordingly To order: niki@garagistewine.com This parcel is set to depart the cave – it will arrive in February (please check OARS for local pick up after Feb 15th). It will ship during the Spring shipping season. Out of state orders will be held for free under ideal storage conditions (56 degrees/70%humidity) until shipping is possible. Locals may pick up at their leisure. For current local pick up and arrival/ship information, please see your OARS link below (at the bottom of this offer) - don’t know how to access your OARS?
