(Clos du Mont-Olivet Chareauneuf-du-Pape) Rosewater, slight VA, orange spice, day old mint, bright berry fruit, autumnal leaves and minerals. Supple palate but a touch bitter on the finish. Nice tense fruit and an appealing cardamon, cinnamon, clove spice on the finish. Good but not as outstanding when last tasted a year ago. Maybe closed.
(Clos du Mont-Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape) This wine has showed superbly every time I have had it. This was # 5. Animal fur, minerals, touch of brett that blew off after around 45 minutes. Smoked meat, tar, roses and cherry liquor too. Bright and juicy on the palate with low acid, excellent ripeness and great length. Focused and somewhat silky tannins. Maybe a little short but still just a great little wine.
