(Chandon de Brialles Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru "Ile des Vergelesses") Many 2005's are shutting down and showing awkwardly right now but after significant aeration they let you see a glimpse of the greatness. This had great depth and a fantastic midpalate. Crunchy red fruit and lots of spice, leather and earth. Thick and suave but with Grand Cru grip and finesse. This is a 20 year wine. Think I need a couple bottles of this. Love the style here of aggressive and sauvage wines based on finesse.
