(Francois Villard Mairlant St. Joseph) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-stink juice; like black pepper meet subtle poop on the back-end; pickle juice aspect that I like; some minerality; more Old World; PALATE-this wine is very good and brings the thunder; not as big and bold as some, but very elegant; more Bordeaux-like; not as much fruit, but classic and really elegant; some nice bitter tannins on the mid-palate; like dark chocolate with pistachios; this has a dry, firm black tea component with the tannins that makes me think this will last 13-15 years; WS-92; GV-92+
