(Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol Rouge) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-dark chocolate & cranberry; gorgeous; a little new car leather smell as well; PALATE-very big wine; quite tannic; this wine has "balls"; good structure; lots of dark fruit exploding on the mid-palate (black currants; blackberries, blueberries); then transitions to grainy / earthy tone on the back-end; I like the bitter tannins; a black tea component on the finish as well; the length is quite silky and smooth; get little itsy bitsy blueberries dancing in your mouth and I like it; the flavor profile is exceptional; great length; this is a real stellar effort at $38 bones; this wine trumps many $70-$100 CdP's, Bordeaux's and Cali Cabernets; this is spectacular and well made; will last 7-15 years easy; great with a steak; great wine; WS-95; GV-92+
