(Chateau Beaucastel) This is stunning!! Incredible soil-driven aromas of wet earth, cherry liquor, bark. Little tight right out of the gates but that bright Grenachey fruit is there with a hint of horsehair and barnyard. But what is very compelling about this wine is the smell of rich, wet soil. I have never smelled a wine that has this type of pure expression of soil. The palate is very primary but just shows dazzling complexity and length. Strong acids and amazing purity are the hallmarks of this bottle. I have to get more of this.
