Wines of Mendoza

[hThe Cielo y Tierra project began in 2005 when Gustavo Santaolalla, a composer by profession, bought an estate (finca) that he christened 'La Luna', the name of his daughter. The La Luna estate is located in Lunlunta, Luján de Cuyo (Mendoza) at 900 metres above sea level. It covers 22 hectares, of which 10 hectares are planted to vines, mostly Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and a little Petit Verdot. Total production is a mere 20,000 bottles, under the labels Don Juan Nahuel and Celador. Gustavo's son was the inspiration for the top wine, Don Juan Nahuel. Celador refers to the song 'Celador de Suenos', a duet written by Gustavo and featuring Raul Orozco and Fernando Barrientos. This was the song that launched Gustavo's career as a composer, eventually leading to two Academy Awards for the soundtracks to 'Brokeback Mountain' and 'Babel'!ttp://www.1150wine.com/info/67-wines/136-best-malbec-argentine-wines-argentinian Argentine Malbec Producers] (from Swig)
