Taste: Inviting aromas of red fruit, loam, minerals, spice and black currant punctuated with dried flower notes. Supple red fruit flavors on the palate supported by finely polished tannins.
Cameron Confidential: This estate is located within Napa Valley's Atlas Peak Appellation, aptly named after Atlas Peak Mountain, which locals in-the-know also call the Blue Mountain. It's the highest point in the region rising 2,663 feet above the valley floor, the grapes being grown at 1700 ft. This vintage, 2010, which was a cooler vintage, delivered great complexity along with the elevation at which the wine was grown offered a beautiful fruit profile. We took more control of the vineyard practices with this vintage vs last year's and just got a terrific result. This is a wonderful food wine, with fruit sweetness and fine tannins. Decant for an hour or so for best results.
