Overlooking the breathtaking seascape of Marion Bay and Maria Island in South Eastern Tasmania, Bream Creek is one of the first commercial vineyards planted in Tasmania. Originally planted in 1973, the vineyard was purchased in 1990 by Fred Peacock, one of Tasmania’s leading viticulturists. Fred's priority was to increase Pinot Noir plantings and introduce Sauvignon Blanc and Schönburger (the first commercial plantings in the Southern Hemisphere of this very rare German grape. Reflecting Fred's dedication, passion and drive for perfection, the vineyard is now a 7.5 hectare showcase of premium Tasmanian varieties; of particular note are the Riesling vines which are now over 40 years old (being some of the oldest Riesling vines in Tasmania). Bream Creek produces premium cool climate Tasmanian wines that are both complex and elegant. Since 1990, the vineyard has garnered 18 trophies and over 394 show medals and since 2010 has been rated as a red five star winery by the James Halliday Wine Companion.
