Every year the process of creating this wine has become a crush pad favorite. There’s nothing like the energy produced from this ancient form of winemaking happening in front of your eyes just when exhaustion has set in.

It is ruby to the core and loaded with aromas of dark red fruits, wild flowers, tobacco and licorice. On the palate, these same components dance on a framed natural acidity that is more subdued due to its interaction with the stems during fermentation. The finish is where all these elements come together.

Lighter in overall palate presence than the non whole cluster version, look for this wine to take on further elegance with bottle age and surprise those willing to age it for 5-7 years. This will enable it to fully express itself and become an American version of a traditional French Northern Rhone Syrah.
