What can be said; an incredible wine from an incredible vineyard from arguably the best viticulturist in the sate, Dick Boushey. The wine makes itself... My job is to simply stay out of the way and not mess it up. All the fruit is from what Dick calls the Factory Road Block. It has both a southern and northern slope which gives the fruit grown here such complexity. In the cooler vintages the fruit on the southern slope is dominate in the blend and in the warmer vintages, the northern slope is dominate in the blend. Jolie takes a while to open up and patience is rewarded big time with a few years of age. I love this wine with food, or without, for that matter... Aged in 18% new French oak 500 Liter barrels for 15 months. - Bernnon Leighton, EFESTE winemaker
