Vineyard Notes: 2009 was just the second year Terra Valentine sourced fruit from this specific vineyard site. Located at the extreme western edge of Sonoma County up on Kings Ridge that looks right onto Marcassin, Hirsch, and Red Car, this site has excellent potential with an already impressive pedigree. We sourced two Pinot Noir clones in 2009. Clone 777 offers intense colors and aromas with balance and round tannins. Clone 828 creates robust complex wines with good acidity.

Winemaking Notes: The 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir was handpicked on September 3rd and 10th. Grapes were destemmed into open top fermenters, cold soaked for 5 days and then fermented for 14 days for a total of 19 days of skin contact. We let the wine age in 50% new French oak for 17 months to allow for the evolution of the tannins.
