From the winery:The Syrah is made up of 85% Syrah, 5% Grenache, 3% Petite Syrah, 5% Roussannce and 2% Viogner. It surely won't come as a surprise when I tell you this is a big, brawny wine that will warrant several hours of decantation. I am not to fond of going into the plethora of elaborate exotic fruit description, but the wine is what I would call a quintessential SQN wine. Wonderfully aromatic, without being superficially frutti-tutti. Full flavor, but not heavy or clumsy. There is a quite solid structure with chocolate tannins and a flashy, simple mouth feel and terrific length. There are plenty of dark fruit flavors (it is made from fruits after all), mostly of the blue and black berry family as well as some garrigue as well as the touch of wood fire smoke. I think what's most impressive about this wine is thoroughness and fabulous depth… Especially as the wine evolves in the decanter or glass. Don't miss it.
