Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Thanks to the 3 inches of rain Mead Ranch received during flowering, there is very little of the phenomenal wine to be had; we got only ½ a ton to the acre in 2011. Kissed by the fog, this vineyard is one of our coolest in Napa, a fact that comes through thanks to the dominance of blue fruit and cracked black pepper on the nose. Umami flavors like cured meats and savory roasted vegetables on the palate. We wish there was more to go around!
