Winemaker Note: From its pristine cherry color to its focused, sophisticated aromas, this is a Pinot Noir of refinement. The nose carries scents of sweet red cherry, red raspberry, fresh pomegranate, pink peppercorn, powdered sumac and roasted grain, all of which fan out gracefully and gain in richness with airing. Youthful fruitiness is a bit more obvious on the palate, where the roasted grain, coriander seed and dried orange notes are subordinate to the wines deeper core of raspberry, pomegranate and peppery spice. The finish is flavorful, lingering and never less than polished, and if the wine is a fine companion to Paella or grilled salmon now, it will surely deserve something grander in another two years or so.
