10/11/2014 12:12:00 PM - Hi Evan. We really like Force Majeure across the board. Some better than others of course, but for the money they are still one of the best coming out of WA imo. Cheers!

10/10/2014 5:02:00 PM - i took a stroll through your cellar and i was quite impressed with the breadth of WA wines. We have a lot in common. I am curious - how good are Force Majeure ?

4/10/2014 9:57:00 AM - I'd be very happy for a shortlist of the best Washingtonian producers of serius Syrah, as wife and I want to explore it later in the year, after some two cases of Californian Syrah. If that's something you have available. Your cellar, BTW, is awe inspiring!

3/20/2014 3:17:00 PM - 2011 Maison Bleue Marsanne Petite Joie Boushey Vineyard ...get a move on, sir!

2/24/2014 9:14:00 AM - Good Morning Chris, I am in the market for some the 2011 JB Neufeld Cabernet Sauvignon DuBrul Vineyard. Do you know where it can be had? Many thanks.

  • StefanAkiko says:

1/29/2014 2:34:00 AM - I also got a case of 2007 Sheridan Vineyard Cabernet Franc. And WOAH! You have more Washingtonian wines than we have Bordeaux. Unfortunately, its not so easy to find W-wines in Sweden nor in Japan. The ones we have come from Chicago Wine Company. We really like the W expression of Meritage and CF. But, we need lots more before we have trustworthy statistics. We really love collecting that kind of data, btl by btl :-)

12/16/2013 1:33:00 PM - Hello Chris, I thought you'd want to know that Barrister has released a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon comprised mostly of Tapteil fruit, in their 2010 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. It is priced under $40, and therefore a ridiculous value. Cheers!

9/17/2013 1:49:00 PM - Chris, I've read your notes on the two JB Neufeld Cabernets from the 2009 vintage. Would you care to compare the two? It looks like you socred the Dubrul higher than the Artz? Is one of the two more New Worldish than the other, are they equally structured, etc?

6/26/2013 8:07:00 PM - FYI, Yokes Fresh Markets in Tri-Cities (Pasco store recommended) bought out inventory of Irlandes (by Canon del Sol) and are selling it for $13/bottle or $120/case (was $24-38). Syrah and "Karma" Bord. blend are OK ($20 wines), others are better (CabS, Merlot, "Epic"). Also Kennewick Costco just added higher end wine section ($40-100).

5/27/2013 8:25:00 PM - Chris, My wife and I plan to be in Seattle for a couple of days in late June, and would like to schedule some private appts with owners/winemakers in Woodinville. Any suggestions for us? Much obliged, Randy

5/24/2013 8:49:00 AM - Hi there just got your message regarding the Sheridan. Different vintage but David scored it 88-89 points (2009) And Bob Parker is fine Miller (oriiginal rater of WA) left/asked to leave. All highly rated wines by other pallet's than Parker he himself will taste. And did not agree with Jay Miller on some of these that is why they went back on some of these vintages. I personally do not think Shereidan is horrible I just dont think the juice is worth the sqeeze. Try Ramseyer...for the money they are well worth it.

4/26/2013 2:20:00 AM - Amazing Cellar you have! In the wine business here in the Valley?

3/18/2013 2:20:00 PM - One other question, what do you think of Pedestal Merlot? Thanks,

  • Dagalaifus says:

3/18/2013 2:18:00 PM - Also, I agree with your comments about Linda. She has a fantastic palate and has recommended to me a handful of Syrahs from small producers that were fabulous. She also opened my eyes (or my palate) to Gruner -- a varietal that I never thought was worth drinking. I know that there are other wine stores with much larger selections, but Wine Closet in Camarillo remains my favorite.

3/18/2013 2:10:00 PM - Chris, I enjoyed meeting you and your wife and thanks for responding to my question about Corliss. I'm with you re the lack of Washington wines in So.Cal. The only winery that you can find consistently down here in the retail shops is Owen Roe.

  • Dagalaifus says:

3/15/2013 6:20:00 PM - My local wine stores are pretty light on Washington wines, but some carry the Corliss Red and Cabernet. Was wondering what you think of that winery. Thanks in advance for responding.

2/4/2013 7:49:00 PM - Next time we head your way I'll do that. It would be fantastic to have info on some of the better wineries to take in. I have not had any new wines since the takeover by the son, but Portteus made some great cabs. Take care and always enjoy in moderation!! David

1/29/2013 6:25:00 PM - I noticed from your notes over the last year you have some of my favorites. ANC, Maisson Bleu and last night I opened one of my few remaining Sagelands Cabs. I too was disappointed in their change. We were able to visit the winery 3 or 4 years back with my daughter who was attending Culinary school in Seattle. I also discovered ANC on that trip.
