PNP - Paired wonderfully with venison steaks and blueberry sauce. Blue fruits and slightly gamey on the nose (the wine, not the dish) took a little bit to coax out of the glass. An hour decant would've been the move here. Palate was fuller, fruitier and more approachable than the Bonnivieres. Not much complexity yet but a pleasurable drink now with potential. Will be interesting to see how these two develop over the next 5+years.

This wine is in a good place right now, developing wonderful tertiary notes while keeping plenty of pure cassis to hold it together. Balance is good, mouth feel is quite elegant and but for a little hole in the mid palate, the finish is long and smooth. Tannins have integrated but there's enough grip to be a great food wine. I like it and am glad we opened it when we did. Could comfortably last another 3-5y, but why wait?

Youthful purplish luminescence in the glass, all about black fruits and white flowers on the nose. If you're seeking a big, bold monster of a syrah look elsewhere. This is midweight, elegant and very primary in character, will be intriguing to see how it develops over the next 3-5 years.
