8/7/2018 5:08:00 AM - As far as I know, we've never met. Cheers!

8/7/2018 4:36:00 AM - "Who are you?" was just because I see a lot of your notes and I was curious if you were someone I know who was posting under a pseudonym.

8/6/2018 8:44:00 PM - Same handle on Wineberserkers. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be visible, although I don't recall ever posting there - perhaps the two facts are related? Not quite sure how to answer "Who are you?" LOL. Just another guy who has more wine than good sense. I enjoyed a lot of the early Pax bottlings in the first few years after release, but it feels hit-or-miss these days, which could just be palate shift. The blackberry liqueur note doesn't really do it for me like it did ten years ago...

8/6/2018 8:15:00 PM - Who are you? You seem to have a palate that aligns with mine and post on a lot of the same wines but your handle is not listed on Wineberserkers. Frank Murray III, who I know, has noticed the same. By the way - I have Pax going back to 2004. I really liked the 2004 Walker Vine Hills.

1/26/2015 1:15:00 PM - We too have had wonderful dinners at Taillevant. Have you ever had their frogs legs? We call them in advance and ask them to have it on the menu as an appetizer. I was first introduced to great food and wine by my father in law. My husband and I love to go to restaurants that let us bring out own wine.

3/17/2013 8:17:00 AM - Hi, Frank. We had an '05 Griffin's Lair recently that was a cut above the other '05s from Pax; if that was representative, that would be the one I'd backfill first. I want to stress the representative part, though...it was both sufficiently better than, and different from, other bottles that I don't know if it was a fluke or a harbinger of good things to come. But if I had the opportunity to pick up a couple more bottles, I'd take the chance. After that, the various Alder Springs bottlings seem to be progressing nicely, and semi-recent bottles of the Lauterbach and Castelli-Knight were nice. I wouldn't backfill the other cuvees or the Kobler; not at all clear they have a future ahead of them, or for that matter that they're not already over the hill.

3/17/2013 6:47:00 AM - Good morning. Looking at some 2005 Pax for sale and in reviewing the notes, you have quite a few across the spectrum. In your view, and given the bottles you have left, which ones would you backfill if you had the opportunity and the prices for them were right? Thanks in advance.
