A very "champagne" chardonnay fruit with a generous richness backed by a dry minerality. My only complaint is it is flabby. Champagne enjoys the carbonic spine whereas Chablis usually relies on acid. This wine lacks a little bit of the acid (amazingly in 2008) and comes off a little flat. But only just a little. At this price this is a wine worth picking up by the bottle for immediate enjoyment rather than the case for long term.
Spectacular. Sharp acidity needs some time behind the cork to smooth but otherwise this wine speaks very sincerely of the vineyard. I was shocked how a silky smoke was constantly supporting the otherwise very bright fruit. Incredibly interesting and delicious.
Magnificent. Mineral. Acidic. Elegantly rich. Pure. This wine is driven and precisely aimed at expressing the origin, the vintage and the fruit. Delightful and difficult to follow this over time as it won't last long in most cellars.
