2012 Rapet Père et Fils Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses

Drinking really well right now, but clearly still young. Reticent nose, slight amount of reduction. Medium body, soft cherry core surrounded by somewhat gritty tannins. Definitely on the rustic side, but feels like there's an underlying elegance that may come out with time once the rough edges are sanded down. Still very good now, but I'd hold if you only have one.

2014 Cameron Chardonnay Dundee Hills

Absolutely delicious.
On the nutty side of chardonnay, not much evident fruit. A kiss of oak, medium body.
Moderate acidity. All the pieces fit so well together. Perhaps the best $20 chardonnay around.

Medium body, good freshness. Plum, some berry, and earth. Enough structure to make me think it has a few years left, but drinks great now. Not overwrought at all. Delicious.
