  • 2011 Ventimiglia Vineyards Chambourcin

Chambourcin is not a wine I tend to enjoy, it is usually very high acid and often is not aged enough to develop some of the more mellow complex aspects of the wine. But ventimiglia chambourcin is he exception
The wine looks dark violet red in color. The legs are Slow. It smells like Cherry, Tea and dark mocha. It tastes like Cherry, plum, Mushroom, Black Pepper, and Tea, with some herbaceous notes crisp bell pepper. The body is Medium. The wine has Bright texture, lots of acidity. The wine finishes Medium and after sitting open for an hour really gives you a nice roundness on the finish with enough tannins to provide a pleasant structure.

  • 2009 Pelissero Pasquale Barbaresco Bricco San Giuliano

brick red color, on the nose cherry and strawberry with some vanilla , almost honey. fast legs. cherry , strawberry upfront with some licorice and leather at the mid and finishes with a earthy mineral. tannins are upfront and contribute the overall chewiness of the wine. used a airator with it, and still I found it a little bit astringent. Not my style of wine, I prefer a softer more balanced and rounded mouth feel. wine spector gave this wine 93 points and I just do not see it. I love barbaesco, but think this needs more time. bought at wine library for 24 bucks.. not a bad deal, but I think i will let the other bottles sit for a while.
