    Popped and poured. Paired with a New York steak. Amazing bottle of wine. This is hitting on all cylinders right now. The texture is like putting on silk pajamas and sliding into satin sheets. Soft and supple without any hint of flabbiness. Plenty of fruit on the palate, with notes of strawberry, red currant and cherry. Aromas of clove, cardamom and thyme that then shifted into charred meat. Just an all around WOW bottle.

  • 2013 Nefarious Cellars Viognier Defiance Vineyard

    Twisted and poured. The first half hour with this wine would have been difficult blind. Aromas jumped between Riesling and Chardonnay. After that initial period, it screamed Viognier. Tons of stone fruit on the nose and palate along with a touch of a smokey component. There was also a bunch of minerality on the palate. Balanced acidity, good length. Would purchase again.

  • 2003 Rulo Syrah Silo

    Popped and poured. Cork was in great condition and the color of the wine gave no indication of it's advancing years. The first half an hour, there was a hint of VA that distracted from the wine. This blew off and allowed more interesting notes to shine through. Aromas of potpourri, soft salted caramels that were cooked just into the darker stage, blackberry and roasted game meat. The palate had more blackberry, minerals and fire roasted plums. Clean finish, though I was hoping it would last a bit longer. Balanced acidity, medium weight on the mouth feel. Still going strong. Would purchase again.
