What a difference a year makes! I first tasted this when it appeared in our store about a year ago. I enjoyed it well enough, but not to the point of buying it until it went on sale, when I bought only one bottle. Tasting that one bottle now after a year of ageing, I very much wish I had bought a case. Delicious but atypical. The texture is fuller and richer than the more austere, lime dominated style I normally associate with Australia. This wine is very strongly tinged with peach (but dry peach, not the sweeter peach of the German style). Not particularly mineral. Would have with a different type of food than the trout or pickerel I normally think of for Australian Riesling. Possibly a pale pork chop, or with a richer chewier fish such as cod, or a fish in cream sauce. Impressive.

some grass and grapefruit on the nose. Better crispness to the palate than usual for Australian versions of S.Bl. Not outstanding, but decent value. 2nd tier.

Some leesy character to both the nose and the palate. Medium acidity, grapefruit character. Longish finish. Reasonably priced. 2nd tier.
