Strongish, herbaceous nose with liquorice, spiciness, wet dirt, flowers, sweet fruit like red apples, saltiness and yeasty bread. Full-bodied wine with balanced fruit, wet dirt and juicy liquorice on the palette. Dry tannins and very high acidity. Fruit needs to open up but it's a longish wine in general. Way too young but has potential. Worth following.

Strong nose with very dark chocolate, dried raspberries, herbaceous liquorice, wet dirt and animality. Smells of tannins. Full-bodied, very dry wine with rather short taste. Fruit is quite thin with some juicy dirt. Structure stays but flavour disappears. At the moment fruit doesn't last for long.

0,375. Not-too-open even quite closed nose which opens only a little with lingonberry and cherry notes. Moss and mixed dried fruits. Doesn't open up any more even overnight in a decanter. Strongish palette has very dry tannins. Closed wine with a hint of bitter berries. Finish has some dried fruits but not much more. Very closed wine which doesn't give much at all.

8/19/2013 11:20:00 PM - I must say I've only tasted the wine once and very quickly at an organized tasting event but if I had the wine (especially just one bottle) in my cellar I would most likely keep it for another couple of years. It's 2010 so you never know but I think the producer could be worth waiting for.
8/19/2013 8:40:00 PM - Thanks for accepting: you just posted notes on four wines I have (Tortochot, Defaix, Michel). Is it worthwhile to open a bottle of the Lavaux St. Jacques now?
Cheers.
