8/9/2020 9:43:00 PM - Comment posted by Lipsman: 8/5/2020 6:05:00 PM - Tea is tannin. Needs more time, if there is enough fruit to outlast it. The 1988 La Tāche tasted like teabags for 20 years. Good to know. Thanks for posting your note. Thanks for your note!! Unusual to drink a DRC that disappoints like this botttle. And, I had a similar experience with this wine and vintage a year earlier. Strange! And I have drank many, many wonderful DRCs for over a decade with Aubert and none disappointed like these two, in December of 2018 and in December 2019 (your comment) Both bottles I rated 90 and 89. Bound to happen with one, but two of the same wine and vintage and six pack!. And what is even more confounding is that I drank two other bottles of this same six pack in 2015 and 2017 and they both drank beautifully, rating them 97! Highly unusual! And I have drank hundreds of different DRCs over the years. In Vino Veritas

3/1/2015 10:51:00 AM - LIPSMAN: Thanks for your comment. I view high alcohol as a product of bigger wines. Climate change is possibly one culprit, yielding riper fruit, but the real problem, I believe, is over extraction intended to please certain influential wine critics.

2/2/2013 5:09:00 PM - Your had mentioned you were going to Africa. Memory! Wish I were going. There are fabulous places (and they even have good wines at all the camps) wonderful wildlife.

2/1/2013 10:19:00 PM - Jeff, are you going on the spring trip in April. We are headed to Monte Carlo for the Rolex open and then to Paris to meet the group. See you at the Chapitre Dinner next week. Bill

3/5/2012 11:59:00 PM - Thanks for the comment on my tasting note for the Quintarelli Valpolicella, nice to know this was a bottle issue and not the wine. Looking forward to taste the next one to get a better experience
