Plush minerality over a lemony/citrus fruit cascade of flavors that persist well into the long finish. Impressive structure - rigid backbone and plenty of mouthwatering acidity. There's a chalky/creamy element reminiscent of Chenin Blanc. Impressive bottle! Will stand up to food.

Purchased from winery in 2014. Very tasty bottle with classic cab franc character of tobacco leaf, chewy dusty fruit and a touch of vegetable garden. The fruit blends in nicely - lightly stewy but in a cab-franc sense and not an overripe one. Another example of great spring mountain fruit and the more classically styled wines produced there compared to the valley floor.

From 375ml. Notably darker in color than the rest of my '09 Sauternes but still tasted young and fresh. Absolutely delicious profile of brulee vanilla sugar with loads of tropical fruit and just enough acidity to balance. Touch of baking spices and botrytis throughout. Paired perfectly with both the pumpkin pie and apple galette. This is an average-great sauternes and will stun the pants off of a casual wine drinker who has never tasted a proper desert wine before. Loved by all at the table. I'm never disappointed with this producer.
