    6/29/2014 2:16:00 PM - Dear Paulst I only have 2 bottles left of the 66 Haut Brion, :( but I did manage to snag 2 bottles of the 94, 75, 78 2001 and 2004 . Plus my drinking buddy has even more :)There is nothing more pleasing than a smooth aged bottle of bordeaux! I have a 82 Ausone as well., just waiting for a good reason to open it. Enjoy your great wines, it puts everything in perpective.

    5/11/2014 5:46:00 AM - I have my collection of mature Bdx thanks to my very good friend (and golf-buddy) Jan Paulson (rare-wine.com), a leading expert in old Bordeaux. The 13 Haut Brions 66 (my birth year) are sourced from the Nicolas cellars in OWC, fill is close to the cork (see photo of label Image), a stellar provenance. A unique drinking experience (just on par with the magnificent Cheval Blanc 66). I wish you a great pleasure drinking it and hope, you will have a good bottle! Yes, nothing in the wine-world beats mature Bordeaux. And not to forget, that Haut Brions from the 70s are avilable for the same price as the 2013 ...

I will be drinking that for the first time, and a 66 Ausone (also for the first time) with a friend soon. I have determined that mature Bordeaux is the only wine that I will spend serious money on.

We also prefer left bank and drink right bank for welcome diverse, some Italy and Rhone. California we never got friends (%), but I remember an excellent Peter Michael Les Pavots. We will have a huge 89-Bdx-tasting next weekend with all 1ers (incl Petrus, LePin) and most 2emes. Tasting story will come. Cheers and greetings across the ocean! KR66 (vintage 1966)
