My contribution to the Cellar Tracker! Charleston Offlineorama for Friday afternoon in the courtyard. This was not the best environment to give this wine the attention to detail it deserves. I would not read too much into the score of 92. I am a conservative scorer and there was just too much confusion and too many wines to concentrate on what was going on in this wine. In comparison to the other wines tasted that afternoon, it was one of the biggest, most dense wines there. I am looking forward to spending the proper amount of time and contemplation on the next one I open.
My contribution to the Cellar Tracker! Charleston Offlineorama. Too much going on in the room for me to pay close attention to the wine. This is a massive wine that at this point is still relatively closed. Lots of interesting things going on behind the "I'm not ready yet" door. Has lots of promise with plenty of fruit and tannins to make this a long ager. I would definitely wait another 4-5 years before opening this wine and I would not be surprised if it did not hit it's maturity for another 10 years and then drink well for another 10 years after that. The main notes that stand out to me were the graphite and stones. Be patient!
Opened at Charleston offline event... too many wines and general chaos to take any official notes... very enjoyable wine (enjoyed enough by the group that we opened a back-up bottle as well). Drinking well now but has a long life ahead.
