  • 2009 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny

A relatively primary nose still of sweet cherries and powdery strawberry fruit come through, though remain somewhat shy during the course of the evening. These aromas are complicated by subtle damp soil tones, strong minerality, red licorice and an intriguing inner mouth perfume of violet. This shows more freshness than many '09s at present. Quite Chambolle in texture, as the tannins are super fine and silky. This is a brighter, crunchier '09 that shows good energy that makes it drinkable now, though it could stand more time in the bottle.

  • 2012 Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny

An ethereal experience even now though quite young. Super delicate, fresh aromas of strawberry, pomegranate, cherry and a whiff of orange zest come through in a powdery-like impression with violets, rose, pepper, cinnamon, mineral and dusty soil tones. Super fine and perfumed in the mouth, crunchy and fresh with notable acidity. Beautifully pure and becomes more vivid with air time.

  • 2011 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny

A particularly ripe nose of both blue and red pinot fruit; raspberry, dark cherry with distinct notes of blueberry and plum come through with pepper, licorice, chocolate and lavender. Utterly fantastic palate entry with the most delicate tannin and bits of lavender perfume in the mouth. As this opens up the fruit becomes richer, a bit more crunchy, minerally and sorbet-like all at the same time. A bit more oak comes to the forefront and begins to muddle some of the flavors. Needs time in the bottle to develop and integrate! Lovely depth of fruit; rich, deep and dynamic!

12/8/2013 12:45:00 PM - Hi Xavier94, thanks for friending me. I'm retiring end of the year and looking for part time work. I would love to work in the wine field in some capacity. Do you have any ideas on where I could look?

2/17/2013 6:32:00 PM - Hi. Thanks for making contact. I am going to try and get some of the local CT users together this Summer. We have about 8 between Buffalo and Syracuse. One guy lives down in Binghamton, but it would be nice to have a get together. CT offlines are really a great way to enjoy some good wine in good company. A few people come up with their wife or SO to visit family or vacation and those dinners are always fun. NYC offline was pretty good, and Charleston was off the charts. Really the best wines I have ever had. I'll make it to Texas within a year, as the throw a good weekend bash as well. Ours will be small, and over a lunch, and dinner but we could have some great wines to broaden our horizons. Again, glad you made contact.
