2/7/2024 8:25:00 AM - Thanks for the invitation, Wormfarmer. I was that way last in 1999. I remember a slightly confusing pilgrimmage to the KLWM shop from which I left with a bottle of 1998 Sang des Cailloux ($15 iirc.) I think it was the next night we opened it at a byob Spanish restaurant in the Mission district—the table next to us were startled by the aroma of the wine as it wafted in their direction. We sure drank a lot of Rhône wine in those days ... Even if I don't expect to be in your area in the near future, I am happy to reciprocate should you ever find yourself in Detroit. Late April is the best!

12/18/2013 5:23:00 PM - You asked about Syrah recommendations... I like Nemorino 2010 (https://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=1486791) which is 60% syrah, or often a Syrah-based Rhone. E.g. https://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=1411543 which I recently picked up for the same price as the Orleans. It's all personal taste, of course!
