Hmm, not as complex as past Caymus. Less dimentional. Hey, it's still very good, and I would drink any time. But the 14 and 15 are just better. I don't think the 2017 will improve in the cellar for more than 3-5 years. Drink soon.
Dang this is a beautiful wine. Huge vapor pressure of flowers and berries, like a Gaja. Palate is overwhelming and quite tannic, as expected for a young, solidly-build Barbaresco. This thing needs a good 10 years before unfolding. Buy, cellar, have patience.

Probably the most perfect bottle of California Cabernet I've experienced. Took some time to open up (2 hours in decanter). Was even better the next evening, which indicates ample tannins for much longer ageing. Have another bottle, but saving for 2025 :-)
