  • 2012 Hubert Lignier Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes

The wine takes on the positive aspects of the '10 & '11 vintage. Though it doesn't quite display the depth or concentration of the '10, it does possess the aromatic complexity of that wine, while offering the laser focus and crystalline purity that characterizes many '11s. Plenty of grip on the finish suggests this wine may need time to unwind.

  • 2011 La Grange Tiphaine Ad Libitum

Côt, gamay, and cabernet franc blend.
Earthy, tobacco, black cherry, sarsaparilla, pepper, talcum powder nose.
Light bodied texture, dried fruit palate with persistent earthy, mineral flavors. Refreshing acidity maintain the wine's focus and clarity. Versatile wine for the table. Recommended.

  • 2007 Margerum M5 Reserve

A step up over the normal cuvee. I usually drink those bottles up around 8 years after vintage date. This one has the stuffing to go a bit longer.
It was a bit uptight upon opening, but really began to unfold after 30-45 minutes.

Great blackberry, raspberry nose, with a ton of minerality, baking spice, molasses, and herbes de Provence, without a hint of overripeness. The palate is meaty yet with super clean fruit. It's lively on the palate with a nice spicy finish. I think it's really firing at the moment and probably best enjoyed with this vivacity (Drink now to 2019).
